About me

I'm a lifestyle journalist and copywriter with a background in content SEO.

I cut my teeth as a writer over ten years ago by reviewing films and plays for The Upcoming in my spare time, first at university and then while I worked in SEO departments at marketing agencies. I left agency life to spend a combined five-and-a-half years working full-time for Metro and Stylist Magazine.

It was at the former where I was able to dive into the lifestyle niche for the first time in my role as SEO Reporter, and I found my home there. Metro was also where I ran two series: Degrees of Separation, which I pitched to explore family estrangement, and another called How I Do It, which involved commissioning participants to keep a seven-day sex diary and editing their submissions.

Freelancing has since allowed me more freedom to zone in on my particular passion for writing lifestyle-y features. These days, you’ll find me doing just that for publications like Glamour and Mashable, as well as keeping myself busy with copywriting, and happily dipping a toe back into newsroom life by working shifts at spots like HuffPost UK.
