About me

I'm a lifestyle journalist and copywriter with a background in content SEO. I spent a combined five and a half years working full-time for Metro and Stylist Magazine before striking out as a freelancer to focus on my particular passion for writing features and fiction.

My favourite topics include sex and relationships, mental health, hair and beauty, unpacking trends, women’s and LGBTQ+ rights, film, and family estrangement — something I have personal experience with. Outside of journalism, I’m currently working on a book best described as the unholy offspring of Stephen King and Virginia Woolf.

At Stylist, I produced expert-led, detailed lifestyle features, interviews, and shopping articles each day. In the Metro newsroom, I worked as an SEO reporter before pivoting to the lifestyle desk, where I delved into a wide range of topics ranging from why taking hormonal birth control can still suck so much, to the racial bias inherent in true crime.

I created the article series Degrees of Separation, which still explores family estrangement in all its forms to this day. I also ran How I Do It, a series in which participants from all walks of life filled in a sex diary for seven days to give readers a sneak peek into the bedrooms of strangers.
